This system will win the Most Innovative Installation and the Best Media Room categories! This system was designed for a customer with some unique objectives. This customer wanted a home theater that would also be used for TV viewing within a game room. The game room was themed with a picture series called “Images of Scotland” by Erika Masterson. The customer expressed a desire to have the sound system disappear into the decor of the room as much as possible. The room was designed with tile floors which presented another challenge to achieving good sound. We developed a design concept using the photographic images for acoustic purposes and to help hide the speakers in the room. The Canvas photographs throughout the room are fitted with Auralex Acousitcs Sonofiber. The large framed images use Audible Images custom designer frames to hide the speakers as well as additional Sonofiber. All of the electronics for the system are installed in a Audible Images custom cabinet with temperature controlled convection cooling and wire management. The center bay of the cabinet houses the center channel speaker. Due to budget limitations and the high temperatures and humidity in the attic space in this Florida home the projector and screen housing were installed within the air conditioned space of the room. The system includes a 5.1 channel speaker system, A/V receiver, 1080P projector, 110” motorized projection screen, DVD/CD player, satellite TV set top box, and custom remote control system. The customer uses the system regularly to entertain with concert videos, sports and movies.
